WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS WEEK:
We have enjoyed reading lots of stories about farms, written about our trip and drawn maps.
In maths we have been thinking about different ways to make 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
We loved our day at Ladyland farm, despite the weather! Thank you to all our adult helpers.
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING NEXT WEEK
In School – We will read Farmer Duck and write speech bubbles for the characters.
Homework- Please encourage your child to keep a simple daily diary over the school holiday, so that they practise their writing skills. This could be brought back in September to their new class.
Please also ensure that your child keeps reading throughout the holiday, by enjoying books at home, visiting the library etc. (We will keep the school reading books here, to pass on to the year 1 teachers.)
Writing books will also be passed on , to ensure continuity, but Learning Journeys will be sent home during the last week.
In School –We will be practising all number bonds again.
Homework- Please look for all sorts of opportunities to practise maths skills when you are out and about, (counting, estimating, measuring etc.) How inventive can you be?!
Understanding the World
In School – We will be learning the names of farm animals and their babies.
Thursday 20th July: 2pm Break up for the Summer!
We have enjoyed a wonderful year with the lovely Owlets and Hoglets and hope you all enjoy the Summer break.
