WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS WEEK:
We read the book ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ and developed sentences inspired by the book with a different focus e.g. speech marks, commas after fronted adverbials and using adverbs and prepositions. We researched the locations of rainforests and created labelled salt dough continents which show these.
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING NEXT:
We will continue to develop sentences inspired on the book with a different focus and then plan and write a story based on it. We will work on our Young Engineers project to design something which solves an everyday problem and also learn about e-safety.
Please ensure homework is returned on a Wednesday. Homework planners will be used by the children to record their weekly spellings. Your child should also use this planner to record their daily reading, spelling and times table practise.
- Spellings: In homework planners.
- English: Reading
- Mental maths: Good times challenge and TT Rock Stars
Please could any spare shoeboxes (or boxes of a similar size and shape to shoeboxes!) be saved and donated to Year 4 ready for some Geography learning next term? We need 62 shoeboxes! Any toilet/kitchen/foil roll tubes will also be gratefully received.
