Anti-Racist Pledge

Summary of how Alexandra Primary School is addressing commitments made in the Anti-Racist Pledge:
1. Eliminating Racism and Discrimination
- Policy and Practice: The school challenges any form of intolerance based on race, culture or ethnicity through its Positive Relationships and Behaviour Policy, Anti-Bullying Policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Staff are trained to identify and respond to incidents of prejudice, ensuring a zero-tolerance approach.
- Rights-Based Approach: The school’s commitment to UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) reinforces non-discrimination principles.
- Working in partnership with outside agencies, such as Chelsea Foundation and Schools Liaison Officers to educate pupils about racism and discriminatory language.
2. Advancing Racial Equality and Equity
- Tracking Achievement Gaps: Data-driven approaches ensure that pupils from all backgrounds, including ethnic minorities, are progressing at least in line with their peers.
- Support for EAL (English as an Additional Language) Families: The school engages parents from diverse linguistic backgrounds through:
- Translated school communications.
- Staff members who speak multiple languages to assist in meetings.
- Intersectionalities with Multilingualism, Pupil Premium Grant and Special Educational Needs are identified and considered in order to provide an individualised approach.
3. Fostering Good Relations Across Racial and Ethnic Groups
