Full time spaces are either:
Extended Entitlement (30 hours) - Available to eligible working families
Privately paid for places - where the family are not eligible for the extended entitlement. This is at a cost of £26 (subject to change) per session. Parents will be asked to pay for places on a termly basis. Payment must be made by the stated deadline, in order to secure the place for the next term. Please note that no refunds will be given for missed sessions, even when absence is notified in advance.
For all full day sessions, there is a cost of £6 per day (subject to change) to cover the last 45 minutes of the day (over and above the 30 hour entitlement). You can choose to collect your child at 2.45pm every day if you do not wish to pay this charge (please note that you cannot choose to collect your child at 2.45pm for only some days per week; they are either collected at 2.45pm every day or stay in nursery until 3.30pm every day).

Admission Priorities
Applications for Alexandra Primary School Nursery are dealt according to the rules stipulated on the Achieving for Children website.
If there are more applications than there are places available, places will be offered in the following order of priority:
-
Places will be offered firstly to looked after children. Applications made under this criterion must be accompanied by details of circumstance and professionally supported evidence (e.g. from a social worker)
-
Places will then be offered next to children who have a brother or sister (sibling), including an adopted, foster, half or step brother or sister, living at the same address and attending Reception to Year 6 at Alexandra Primary School at the time of admission.
-
Places will then be offered in cases of exceptional family, social or medical need (which must be described on the application and verified by professionally supported evidence) that makes Alexandra Primary School the most suitable one for the individual child.
-
Places will then be offered to children of members of staff who have been employed at the school for two or more years at the time of application and will continue to be employed at the school at the point of admission or the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
-
The remaining places will be offered to children who live nearest to the school, as measured by a straight line to the nearest school gate. All distances will be measured using the School Admissions’ geographical information system.
Please contact Michelle Sutton in the school office if you have any queries or need any assistance.
Intake
We have one main intake in September when children can join us in the September following their 3rd birthday provided there are places available. If there are spaces throughout the year, you may be able to apply for an in-year place for your child. Being admitted to our Nursery does not mean that your child will automatically become part of the main school and a separate application has to be made for Reception
