Extended School
Alexandra After School Club and Breakfast Club
Our breakfast and after school clubs are open to any child attending Alexandra Primary School. Breakfast club runs from 7.45am - 8.30am, and after school club runs from 3.20pm - 6pm. Please contact the office for more information on joining.
Please note that the clubs are not available on inset days or during school holidays, or on days that the school closes early.
Pricing (subject to change)
Advance booking fee | Emergency booking fee | Shorter session fee | |
After school club | £15 | £20 | £11 |
Breakfast club | £7 | £10 | N/A |
All advance bookings must be made via Parentpay more than 2 full working days in advance (eg. if you want to book for Wednesday, booking must be made on a Sunday). Bookings can be cancelled on Parentpay up to 2 working days in advance at no charge. Bookings cancelled within 2 working days will still be charged.
Early Pick Ups/Activity Clubs
If you will be picking up your child/ren from the club earlier than the end of the session, this will not impact on the cost of the session. If your child attends an after school activity club, please choose the shorter session option for the reduced price of £11 on the day the child attends both clubs. If the late booking fee has been applied a reduction for attending a club will not be issued.
*Unfortunately we will be unable to accept bookings for Breakfast and Afterschool clubs within 2 full working days, unless there are extenuating circumstances. The increasing quantity of bookings within 2 working days has had an impact on on catering and staffing, and it remains important for us to maintain the qualtiy of the provision and staff ratios. Bookings can be made for the half term in advance, so we appreciate your advance planning. All requests for emergency bookings (within 2 working days) must be made by email to Mrs Anson on sanson16@alexandra.school.
Late Collection Fees (subject to change)
If you will be late for pick up at 6pm, please call 07759 473474. If pickups occur after 6pm on a regular basis, a late fee of £11 per child will be charged for the first 30 minutes; for every 15 minutes thereafter an additional £15 will be charged to cover staff overtime costs.
Payment of Fees
Fees can be paid by ParentPay or through a childcare voucher scheme. You will be asked to provide payment for the first week of the school clubs in advance of your child starting. All accounts must be paid for before your child’s placement ends, and at the end of every full term and by March 31st at the end of the financial year.
Registration
It is required that all parents/carers complete the Breakfast and After School Club Form before sessions can be booked. The emergency contact details must be up to date at all times and it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to notify the school of any changes in details as soon as possible.
Please ensure that the people listed as the emergency contact are contactable between the hours of 7.45am and 6pm.

Healthy Eating Guidelines will be followed and fresh fruit and water will be available throughout the session.
We also cater for children with differing dietary needs such as vegetarians or those who can not eat certain foods due to religious/cultural reasons. We ensure all staff members know of any children who have dietary intolerances or allergies.
Staffing
Our experienced and friendly play workers provide a safe and supportive environment. Our staff team will be kept consistent where ever possible to provide a more stable environment for the children. All our staff are aged 20+ and have been CRB checked and the children will already know them from the school. The Ofsted Registration standards ensure that we operate within their guidelines and a ratio of staff to children is recommended at 1:8 for children under 8 years of age and 1:10 for children above 8 years of age. We aim for a ratio of 1:8 for all children.
Sickness
In the case that a child becomes ill whilst at either club, we will contact the parents/carers and ask that the child be collected as soon as possible.
Absence due to sicknessIf your child does not attend school, or is sent home from school due to sickness or injury, they are not permitted to attend the breakfast or after school club. Refunds cannot be given unless the booking is cancelled more than 2 days in advance.
Childcare vouchers
We accept payment by all childcare voucher providers for our extended school care. They cannot be used for after school activity clubs or trips/residentials. Childcare vouchers will be credited to your Parentpay account to allow bookings to be made.
Please note that it is a parent or carer’s responsibility to keep track of the balance in their ParentPay account. It is school policy that any balance remaining when a child leaves Alexandra Primary School can only be transferred to a sibling attending the school — we will not be able to process a refund of Childcare Vouchers or TFC payments.
Any amount left in your account from Childcare vouchers once your child has left the school will be transferred into the Alexandra Primary School Education Fund.
The Childcare voucher provider needs to be registered with or approved by an appropriate body (such as Ofsted).
