Nursery news

Hello  Everyone,

It was great to see so many of you at our Christmas Fair. Thank you so much for supporting our school in this way.

We all enjoyed our park visits on Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped to make it such a fun learning experience for the children.

As part of our history curriculum, we love to talk about our special memories and those of our families. A big thank you to Lily and Lydia’s Grandmas who came into nursery to share memories of their favourite presents. Perhaps you were given a special gift as a child . Do share any photos with us on Tapestry.

Another big thank you to those who have kindly donated items for the Kingston Food Bank. Do see the recent school newsletter with information about this and what you can donate.

This week in teaching time

Our Word of the Week has been PRESENT and we have enjoyed talking about our favourite gifts. We have also talked about how gifts we give to others can be just as special as those we receive.

We have all enjoyed reading ‘Stick Man’, noticing all the rhyming words in the story and making our own stick people !

We have also been busy practising songs and rhymes for our Christmas concerts which will be on 14th December. Do practise at home.

Next Week

We will be preparing for  Wednesday’s performances, practising our singing and making special festive cards.

We will continue to develop our number skills by looking at different pictures and talking about what we notice as well as enjoying familiar number rhymes

Our Word of the Week will be CHRISTMAS and we will be reading lots of different Christmas stories, thinking especially about how different people celebrate this special festival.

Other nursery learning as part of our continuous provision :

The children have enjoyed …. cooking in the mud kitchen, building with bricks and construction toys and practising their mark making with different writing materials. We have also been balancing and jumping  using our large blocks  and stepping stones and we have loved practising our fine motor skills by threading beads. working with playdough and making crowns. We have also been busy planting bulbs and we are excited to see how they will grow.

Reminders
