Nursery news |
Hello everyone, We are excited to welcome you to Ducklings on Wednesday for our Stay and Play session. Please use the nursery gate entrance when you arrive. The children are looking forward to enjoying their favourite activities with you as well as sharing some of the songs and rhymes we have learned this term. Thank you to all those who supported the Nursery Treat Sale this week. Your generous contributions are so appreciated. Best Wishes, Clare and the Ducklings team |
This week in teaching time |
We have been learning all about underwater worlds and the creatures that live there. We have enjoyed reading ‘Hooray for Fish’ by Lucy Cousins, creating our own imaginary fish and making collage pictures with different resources. In our phonics learning we have revisited the ‘s,a,t,p,i,n’ sounds and continued to practice our oral blending skills with different listening games. We have also learned a new counting rhyme which has helped us think about the concepts of ‘1 less’ and ‘1 more’. |
Next Week |
We will be reflecting on our year in Ducklings and all the activities and experiences we have enjoyed. We will look at our Tapestry photos and talk about our memories. We will also think about being in Reception, reading stories about starting school and talking about what we are looking forward to . |
Other nursery learning as part of our continuous provision : |
We will enjoy cooking in the mud kitchen, creating and painting with large brushes and rollers, exploring capacity through water play activities and building with different construction resources. We will keep practising our ball skills during our PE sessions outdoors as well as using ‘Dough Gym’ to develop our fine motor skills and finger muscle strength. |
Reminders/ Info |
Do look out for our POP UP bookshop during next week. ALL nursery children are welcome to join us for the last morning in Ducklings on Tuesday 22nd July. There will be NO LUNCHES on this day and NO AFTERNOON NURSERY. |
