Together we nurture the genius in everyone
Friday 12th June
Today is Window on the World Day here at Alexandra, and it has been delightful to see so many different costumes from around the World, not to mention the football teams represented!
This week all the children in year 1 (over 120 of them) visited the Golden Hinde at London Bridge. They made the journey by train, and then by tube from Waterloo. By all accounts the Pirate workshop on board the Golden Hinde was wonderful, and hugely enjoyed by all the participants, including the accompanying adults! All the adults have told me how proud they were of the children: their participation, enjoyment and impeccable behaviour were noted by all.
Today is Window on the World Day here at Alexandra, and it has been delightful to see so many different costumes from around the World, not to mention the football teams represented! The children have learned so much from our kind visitors. Thanks to every one of you who took part.
The day started with a lovely assembly from Topaz class. We received this email after it, which has really made us all proud:
Just a quick email of praise to all involved in Topaz class assembly this morning. The children and Mrs Jones did a fantastic job.
Also may I add how impressed I was with a group of young boys from year 2 who were sat in front of us watching the show. They were so polite and kind We had our 1 year old son and 6 week old baby girl with us to watch their sister Zahra in the show and the boys really engaged with the babies asking question and playing with them. Very impressive behaviour and impeccable manners. Praise to their teachers, the school and parents alike!!! Please pass on to the relevant teachers. A true reflection of Alexandra infant school!!!!
What a lovely way to end a busy week! Let’s hope for a great day tomorrow at the summer Fair. I have a feeling that we will escape without the downpours that have been a feature of recent years. Let’s hope so anyway.
