I really cannot believe that we are already three weeks in to the new school year and this is the first time I’ve managed to sit down and write my blog! Sorry – we have all been very, very busy, and the weeks are just flying by.
I hope the children are telling you all about their school days. There certainly is a lot going on. We are having happy lunch times – in between the showers- as you can see in the photos.
In our assemblies together, we have been learning about Respect, one of our 7 core values. The children agree that it is a little word with a big meaning. We have learnt a little rap about it:
I give it to you
You give it to me
You’ve got to treat people respectfully.
The children listened to the story of the Good Samaritan, who showed respect to someone who he didn’t even know by helping him when he was injured. Mr Bateman and I acted out the story of Little Miss Rude – which caused lots of laughter but had a serious message, and we have talked a lot about empathy, equality, being polite, tolerance, sympathy and consideration. I hope the children will remember how important that little word is.
Last week in our Celebration assembly Minnie from Crystal class delighted us all with her gymnastic display. We were all thrilled to see her amazing skills in action – what determination she has shown. Minnie told us that she practices very hard. Well done, Minnie
