Thursday 24th November

Thursday 24th October was a very memorable day at Alexandra Infant School. The day started with all the Year 2 children recreating London in the hall- after looking at the city from the London Eye last week, they researched the landmark buildings so that they could make junk models. Working in small groups or pairs, each class made a selection of buildings, and once they were all put together the result was quite impressive.
Later that day, some of our parents came in to tell the children how Diwali is celebrated in their families. The hall was full of the scent of incense, and the children had some really great questions to ask our expert visitors.
The grand finale to the day was our incredible firework display at Sparkle Night. It was a brilliant occasion from start to finish, and one that I'm sure we will remember for a long time. Oscar's dad, David Harris, did a fabulous job- thank you so much. Thanks too to Rebecca Rouillard, Chair of the PSA, and all the parents and staff who joined in to make sure the event ran smoothly.
What a great way to end our first half term of the school year.
See you all back in school on Monday 3rd November- take care until then.
