Nursery news |
Hello Everyone, We have had another fun packed week in nursery! The children loved meeting all the farm animals on Tuesday and we will share our lovely photos on Tapestry. Everyone remembered to be gentle with the animals and our visitors were so impressed with all the children’s responses and behaviour. |
This week in teaching time |
We have been reading ‘The Very Busy Spider’ and finding out about spiders. We have enjoyed singing the ‘Incey Wincey’ spider song, remembering to use our Makaton signs. In Phonics, we have played lots of animal sound games and practised our sound blending. We have now moved our caterpillar chrysalides into their butterfly habitat and we are excited to see what happens next! |
Next Week |
We will continue to learn about spiders, reading ‘Aaaarrgghh Spider ‘ by Lydia Monks. We are planning to visit Richmond Park to hunt for spiders and other minibeasts. We will also be having a special royal jubilee day on Thursday ! |
Other nursery learning as part of our continuous provision: |
We have made different spiders with playdough, paper plates and forest school finds. We have enjoyed acting out the Incey Wincey rhyme in our water play with guttering pipes and spiders. We have practised mark making by drawing spider webs with pencils, crayons and pens. |
Reminders |
FRIDAY is book changing day. Please return yellow folders on Friday so children can choose a new book to bring home. We plan to visit Richmond Park on WEDNESDAY 25th May. Do sign up on the board outside nursery if you would be able to join us. THURSDAY 26th MAY is Jubilee Celebration day. Children can wear RED, WHITE and BLUE colours. |
