Understanding the World |
In Science we will continuing to look at what science can teach us about how to keep our bodies healthy. In R.E we are looking at significant stories with a moral. This week is ‘Best Friends’, a tale about how unlikely animals can still become best friends. In Art we are focusing on ‘pattern’ and the Folk Artist Heather Galller. We will be putting what we have learnt about contour lines and pattern into a whole class composition (we will be asking parents to supply an old shirt for children to wear as we will be using acrylic paint).
‘My Friends and Me’ is our focus for PSHE and this week we are focusing on friendships and what happens if someone is deliberately unkind or hurts us. Our focus is on helpful actions to protect ourselves and our friends and how to solve problems in a positive way.
In Geography, we are continuing to think about the similarities and differences of places. This week will be talking about farms and there location in rural places and comparing this to where we live. |
Home Learning |
Home learning: This week your child will have some tricky words to practise spelling. Please support your child to learn these words as they will be very helpful for the fluency of their writing. As always, please read your child’s new reading book with them. Please continue to help your child work on their letter formation. Thank you! |
Reminders |
Please make sure all school bags, lunch boxes and water bottles are clearly named. Hot Weather As the weather starts to get warmer, we encourage parents to ensure that the children are prepared for the sun. Please apply 12 hour sunscreen to your child before school on days that are predicted to be sunny. In addition to this, they will need a sun hat and of course their water bottle. We will ensure that children have access to shady areas when out in the sun and encourage them to play in the shade rather than the direct sun.
