Establishing lifelong learning: rooted in knowledge, enriched by experience
Please can parents/ carers think before you park.
Inconsiderate and dangerous parking is increasingly causing problems around our schools, putting the safety of children and others at risk.
Cars parking inconsiderately, blocking driveways or on zigzag lines cause visibility issues for pedestrians of all ages who are crossing the road network to get to and from school.
Alexandra road became blocked last night for 20 minutes due to this problem. If you do need to drive to school for medical, work related reasons – please park considerately in walking distance of the school. Walking is simple and free. It's one of the easiest ways to be more active and get healthier. A 5 minute walk with your child is a chance to chat about their upcoming day.
I know that the vast majority of parents always park appropriately and with consideration for others and probably find the regular communication about this bewildering and frustrating. Let’s work together to make our roads a safer place.
Alexandra school is working closely with the sustainable travel officer at Royal Borough of Kingston and liaising with the travel plan coordinator at St Paul’s C of E school.
