FUNDRAISING IN 2019/20
Our objective is to support the school by enhancing the school community for parents, carers and children and raising funds to support the school’s activities. Everyone with a child at Alexandra School is automatically a member of Alexandra PSA.
The money raised by the PSA means that the school can offer our children a broader range of experiences, learning, opportunities and fun than the school would otherwise be able to fund.
All of this is only made possible by the generosity and support of parents, carers, staff, wider friends and family, and of course, the children themselves!
We rely entirely on staff, parents and carers volunteering their time, skills, resources (anything you can add) to make it happen, plus everyone to come along to as many events as possible.
Last year we raised over £20,000 and spent it on lots of different things including the playground and books.
This year we plan to have lots of similar fun events and fund the library, book and IT equipment amongst other things, plus whatever class teachers want to buy with cake sale proceeds. We work with Mr Waiting to make sure we’re spending it in the most positive way for the kids and school.
FUNDRAISING IN 2018/19
Our primary source of fundraising was the PSA events. We have also raised money through Waitrose Green Token Funding, Matched Giving schemes and Easy Fundraising.
Hamptons Estate Agents also sponsored a few of our events. This year we brought in an incredible £18K Added to the Cake Sale money this means we raised £20,000 in total for the school this year.
Our primary fundraising goal this year is to fund more forest school, Sketchbetter art, Teddy Tennis and playground improvements amongst other things, plus whatever class teachers want to buy with cake sale proceeds. We work with the Head teacher to make sure we're spending it in the most positive way for the children and the school.

PREVIOUS YEARS
Our primary fundraising goal in 2015/16 was to implement a Forest School programme: we funded Forest School training for some of the teachers, we bought Forest School equipment and we are funding the construction of a special Forest School area in the Nursery garden. Every child in Year 2 got to experience the Forest School programme this term (and it was hugely popular) and this was rolled out for the rest of the school. We also covered the additional staffing costs incurred by the Forest School sessions.
We also bought special Maths, Phonics & Reading Booklets for every child in the school. We spent £1,000 on subsidising the cost of school trips, we paid for two E-Safety Workshops for Parents and we donated £297.64 to the SMA Trust in memory of the Clarence children. We covered membership costs for the Wandsworth Work and Play Scrapstore and we paid for the printing of the Year 2 Leavers’ Books.
In 2015/16 Mrs Carr has suggested that the PSA fund a wonderful performing arts programme called Artis which will add to the programme of learning opportunities laid on when the teachers are out of the classroom for their planning and preparation time. (This time included PE and Forest School sessions).
