WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS WEEK:
In Literacy we have been reading Oliver’s Vegetables, Oliver’s fruit salad, Oliver’s milkshake and Honey biscuits.
In Maths we have been counting to 100 – focusing on the teen numbers, looking at teen numbers and understanding how they are made of 10 plus some more and counting back from 20 to 0.
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING NEXT WEEK:
In School: We will be reading books about healthy eating.
In phonics this term we will focus on writing and reading sentences containing tricky phase 2 and 3 graphemes and tricky words. We will be revising “ai” as in snail and “ee” as in sheep and will also learn to spell “want” and “were”.
Homework: Please keep learning to read and spell the tricky words on the book marks we have sent home.
In School: we will be distinguishing between 2D shapes and 3D shapes and learning about the properties of 3D shapes. We will be using the words edges, faces and corners to descrice them.
Knowledge and understanding of the world
In School: Next week is science week. We will be making minibeast hotels, planting sunflowers and racing different liquids.
Homework: Please can your child draw a minibeast, write a fact about it and send it into school on Monday.
Hoglets: Tuesday and Thursday
Owlets: Wednesday and Friday
Your child should come to school wearing their P.E. kit on their P.E. days.
Every child in Reception is entitled to a piece of fruit and a carton of milk each day. Please don’t send extra snacks to school.
Please remember to order meals from ISS.
Please make sure your child’s uniform is clearly named.
