WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS WEEK:
In Literacy we have been reading Harry and the Bucketful of dinosaurs and finding out facts about dinosaurs.
In Maths we have been ordering numbers to 20 and looking at teen numbers.
WHAT WE'LL BE DOING NEXT WEEK:
In School: We will be reading Tiny Rannosaurus and other dinosaur stories. We will also be writing a sorry letter.
In phonics we will be recapping the “ear” and “ng” sound and learning the “oy” sound.
Homework: Complete the “oy” sheet.
In School: the children will look at different coins and sort and order them.
Homework: Help your child recognise the different coins.
Knowledge and understanding of the world
In School: We will continue to learn facts about dinosaurs and we will grow cress and eggs.
Hoglets: Tuesday and Thursday
Owlets: Thursday and Friday
Your child should come to school wearing their P.E. kit on their P.E. days.
Please could your child bring in any (clean and unsquashed) 4 pint milk bottles with their lids on for our craft activity next week.
Home School Diary
There has been a lot of confusion about the Home School diary. We are therefore going to make a few changes:
If your child has a reading book (usually an Oxford reading tree book), please can you make sure you listen to your child read it at least 2 times and complete all the suggested activities in the book. Make sure you record this in the diary. Please can you then send it back to school ( Please don’t put it back in their bag until you have heard your child read). We will then keep it at school until we have heard your child read.
If your child hasn’t got a reading book yet, we will be sending home a set of sound cards so you can practise the sounds with your child at home. They will be kept in the Home School Diary zip folder.
Every child in Reception is entitled to a piece of fruit and a carton of milk each day. Please don’t send extra snacks to school.
Please remember to order meals from ISS.
Please make sure your child’s uniform is clearly named.
