Week beginning Monday 1st June
As half term approaches and the sunny weather starts to become more frequent, I think everyone is starting to feel a little brighter! So, I hope you can relax and have some down time over the half term break.
Over the past few weeks, the year 3 teachers have been really trying hard to give you some lovely things to read! We hope you enjoyed the Ottoline story last week and this week finding out about Londinium! It makes us a little sad that we can’t read class stories like we used to so, as a little half term treat, I have managed to find you another dragon story! Remember our brilliant class story “The Boy Who Grew Dragons” by Andy Shepherd? Well, the author has written a short story about the same characters that she has published and released for free! So, as a special half term ‘gift’ (because I KNOW how much you loved the story!!) I’m going to post her short story “The Boy Who Grew Dragon – A Piratey Adventure” onto our Google Classroom for you all to read. Let me know what you think of it. If you are feeling particularly inspired or creative – why not draw your favourite part of the story or make your own dragon! Why not write or draw the story as a cartoon strip or visit her website for more fun facts and activities. She has even set a challenge for readers like you to illustrate her story! Check it out https://www.andyshepherdwriter.co.uk/. I wish you all a restful and happy half term. Sending lots of dragony vibes your way…🐲

Dear Fox Class
I hope you have had a lovely half term break from homeschooling! It was so nice to be able to speak to so many of you before half term and to hear all of your news.
In the last few weeks I’ve been able to meet some local friends and family, at a safe distance, which has been wonderful. I can't wait to see you all as well when we are all back at school!
We have had one birthday after another in my house this month, first James, then myself and finally Ciara this weekend. We all had lovely days with lots of cake and presents. We used Zoom to talk to the rest of our family and to sing happy birthday (but without needing to wash our hands!). I know that many of you have already celebrated birthdays in lockdown and some of you will have theirs soon. It certainly was memorable - something Ill never forget 😊.
I am still missing you all so much. Take care and stay safe.
Mrs Lewis xx
