Other Fundraising
Helping the PSA isn’t all about volunteering and attending events. There are other ways parents and staff can help.
Did you know that whenever you buy anything online - from your weekly shop to your annual holiday - you could be collecting free donations for Alexandra Primary School?
There are over 4,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation, including Amazon, John Lewis, M & S and Sainsbury's – it doesn't cost you a penny extra!
It's as easy as 1, 2, 3...
1. Head to https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/AlexandraPrimary and join for free.
2. Every time you shop online, go to easyfundraising first to find the site you want and start shopping.
3. After you’ve checked out, that retailer will make a donation to your good cause for no extra cost whatsoever.
There are no catches or hidden charges and Alexandra Primary School will be really grateful for your donations.
Amazon donates 0.5% of the net purchase price (excluding VAT, returns and shipping fees) of eligible purchases to the charitable organisation of your choice.
Sign up here and search for Alexandra School Parent Staff Association as the charity of your choice.
Android and iPhone phone users can add the Smile account to their Amazon app. Go to settings/AmazonSmile to turn it on. You will the automatically be donating for every eligible purchase bought from the app.
Tax free financial contribution
Have you considered payroll giving? The PSA is a registered charity so if your employer has set up a payroll giving scheme you can ask them to pay a specified amount of your monthly salary to the PSA. The money is deducted before tax is calculated.
Matched Funding
Getting matched funding is easy. The PSA is a charity so all you need to do is get involved in a PSA event - sell cakes at a cake sale, sell uniform at a uniform sale, man a stall at one of the fairs, help organise an event or be a parent helper at an event. The school office can give you a letter for your employer confirming the amount raised and a few weeks later the PSA receives a cheque for an equal amount (subject to any limits the relevant organisation may impose - usually up to £500).
